Subaru Does Well in RallyCross Debut in Charlotte

The Subaru/Puma RallyCross team battled against 17 other RallyCross teams with one of their drivers, Dave Mirra, reaching the final heat.

Subaru/Puma have three different RallyCross drivers, including; Bucky Lasek, Sverre Isachsen and the aforementioned Dave Mirra. All three drivers will be racing in Subaru WRX STI RallyCross cars in the RallyCross circuit. Isachsen, a RallyCross veteran from Europe, is excited about the opportunity to race in a Subaru, stating that, “We have only just started the development of our car yet I had the pace to challenge our rivals here in Charlotte, who have been developing their cars for Rallycross for years.  They are at their limit yet we are just scratching the surface, so the potential I see is very good.  It was a good weekend for me to learn this and get some time in the car, so I’m very confident now.  We will fight for victory at the next round, I am sure of it.”

Subaru vehicles continue to rise in popularity as an everyday vehicle, but also on the racing circuit as consumers and racers alike are finally giving Subaru the respect that it commands. James Han, Subaru of America’s Motorsports Marketing Manager, talked about the talent that is currently driving Subaru vehicles on the RallyCross Circuit, stating that, “We have a substantial driver line-up, and they each adapted well to their respective Subaru WRX STI rallycross cars.”
