The Subaru BRZ made its U.S. debut in Detroit.
This month marks the beginning of a new era of sorts for Subaru. On Jan. 9, the company unveiled the all new 2012 Subaru BRZ at the American International Auto Show in Detroit – its U.S. debut. The BRZ represents pure performance that should have Subaru fans itching to get their hands on it.
At Briggs Subaru, and all over the country, people will have to wait, as the BRZ won’t be arriving on the lots until late spring. But, it gives us something to be excited about through the winter months.
Handling will be the key to the success of the Subaru BRZ in Kansas. Subaru put its finest engineers on the task of creating a chassis that delivers the lowest center of gravity possible. The result is a superior handling sports car that has a powerful engine to take advantage of it. Speaking of under the hood, the BRZ is being fit with a 2.0-liter engine that provides 200 horsepower. The engine was also refined, being made smaller to fit further back in the vehicle, adding to the superior handling.
The lightweight sports car (2,700 pounds) will be offered in either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. While the choice is yours, this is one of those cars that can take advantage of the manual shifting by letting the driver feel connected to the power and handling it provides.
