It gives Briggs Subaru a lot of pleasure to announce that just recently, David Higgins a member of Subaru’s Rally Team USA recently won his second consecutive Rally America National Championship after finishing in second place at the New England Forest Rally event.
Both Higgins and the rest of the Subaru Team had positioned themselves well all season, as they only needed a sixth place finish or higher in the New England Forest Rally to clinch this year’s Rally America Driver’s Championship.
The Subaru team has a great tradition with regards to the Rally America Championship as they have been victorious in six of the past seven years. David Higgins himself has been a part of four-different Rally America Championships dating all the way back to 2002 and 2003, as well as last year and obviously this year. The Subaru team and their Subaru WRX STI have done them well throughout the years as they have obviously become the cream of the crop in rally racing.
David Higgins talked about winning the championship, again, and how instrumental both Subaru and his team were in the win, stating that, “I’m extremely proud of what we accomplished this year. To successfully defend our championship and keep Subaru a-top rallying in the USA means a lot to Craig and I. Our Subaru has been perfect all season, the 2012 STI is reliable and so tough and that has really been the difference in the points race. We have finished every event with either a victory or a second place finish and the car has worked in every condition thrown at it.”
